Togarashi signifie "piment fort" en Japonais. Il s'agit d'un mélange japonais d'épices rouge-orangé, normalement saupoudré sur des plats de nouilles froides telles que les Udon ou les Soba. Il contient du piment fort rouge, du poivre noir, du nori, du zeste d'orange et des graines de sésame. Il est excellent sur des pommes de terre au four ou frites, et est délicieux sur les légumes à la vapeur tels que le brocoli avec de l'huile de sésame. Le Togarashi Nanami rehausse aussi les saveurs franches du tartare de thon ou du ceviche de pétoncles.
