A preserved pink flower from a fragrant Japanese cherry tree used for tea, sweets and in savoury dishes. Sakura Cherry Blossom Flower is a delicate pink blossom pickled in salt and umeboshi vinegar, giving it an appealing sour-salty flavour. Before using, they are soaked in cold water. In Japan, they are brewed as a tea to celebrate spring or served at weddings. They are used to flavour steamed sweet buns or as a floral garnish. Add them to rice during steaming or use them in dashi stock for a slightly pickled flavour.
