Nuts & Chestnuts
We carry a fine selection of chestnuts in all forms, many from the French masters at Faugier, some in decorative tins for gift giving. Preserved naturally or in sweet sugar syrup, their nutty flavour and dense starchy texture are an elegant addition to cooking and baking. Whole chestnuts are excellent in root vegetable soups, and the sweet puree is essential in the classic dessert, Mont Blanc. Candied chestnuts dress up a sweet potato casserole and dipped in chocolate are a spectacular sweet.
