member recognition with several:
Baking Association of Canada BAC
The Baking Association of Canada is the national trade association
representing Canada's $3.2 billion baking industry. BAC's
members include retail, in-store and wholesale baking companies
along with the allied trades.
The Baking
Association of Canada's mission is to foster the growth and
development of a dynamic Canadian baking industry through
advocacy and effective programs at the regional and national
levels.
British
Columbia Chefs' Association BCCA
The British Columbia Chef's Association was founded in July,
1958. The Association has dedicated itself to the education
of both junior members, and to the upgrading of skills for
all regular members. Over the years, the Association has facilitated
an annual scholarship program for deserving students who distinguish
themselves in the culinary field throughout lower mainland
high schools. Scholarship funds are raised through fund raising
activities such as the Bavarian Night and through generous
corporate donations.
The voluntary
electoral organizes activities such as Christmas Parties,
Summer Picnics, President's Balls, Apprentice Competitions,
Local and National Conventions, Culinary Salons and all events
which publicise the professional chefs in British Columbia.
Future
plans include more involvement with fund raising activities,
helping out charitable causes, and increasing the membership.
Canadian
Restaurant & Foodservices Association CFRA
The Canadian Restaurant and Foodservices Association is the
largest hospitality association in Canada. Since 1944, the
CRFA has grown to more than 16,500 members strong who control
more than 48,000 outlets. Members include restaurants, bars,
hotels, caterers, institutions, educators and foodservice
suppliers.
CRFA's
mission is to create a favourable business environment and
deliver tangible value to its members in all sectors of Canada's
foodservice industry. The CRFA accomplishes this through member
services including: government lobbying on key industry issues;
industry research and forecasts; money-saving services and
group buying programs; and hospitality trade shows.
Certified Chef de Cuisine CCC
The Chef de Cuisine (CCC) Certification program is provided
by the Canadian Culinary Institute of Canada (CCI), the Educational
branch of the Canadian Federation of Chefs de Cuisine (CFCC)
La Fédération Canadienne Des Chefs et Cuisiniers.
The CCC
is recognized as the highest attainable educational and culinary
certification in Canada. This program is offered through the
resources of CFCC branches and their respective education
chairpersons. The program is designed for chefs currently
working in the industry at Executive, Executive Sous, and
Sous Chef levels possessing both journeyman accreditations
and Red Seal certifications.
